Leadership is a matter of the heart

Leadership requires one heart check after another. It's just not enough to wield influence over other people without occasionally pausing to ask yourself some really tough questions.

What's my real motive here?
Where do I need to listen more carefully?
What's really going on inside me?

These kinds of questions make people uncomfortable. They make me uncomfortable. Well guess what... get over it. Checking your own heart is the price of leadership, at least the kind of leadership that's worth practicing and following.

Everything you do flows from your heart. Your leadership flows from your heart. Checking your heart is tough, but it is sooooooooo worth it. Sure, you can learn a new skill or a new model, but transformation only happens in your heart.

Leadership is a matter of the heart.
